Emil Dimanchev
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Emil Dimanchev is a postdoctoral researcher working on ways to improve the design of energy systems, electricity markets, and climate policies.
Emil’s research focuses on evaluating the systemic impacts of policy, market design, and planning decisions, particularly under uncertainty and political economy constraints, by advancing and applying methods from operations research. Emil holds a PhD in Electric Power Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, a master’s degree from MIT in Technology and Policy, and a BA in Mathematical Economics from Colorado College. He previously worked as a research associate at MIT’s Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research and spent five years advising on the European Union’s climate policy.
